Big Blue Test 2011: Tuscaloosa, Alabama

After torrential tornadoes swept through Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 2011, health problems increased in an area where 12.2% of people have diabetes. With greater poverty comes the prevalence of diabetes and treating it became more of a challenge. Many lost their glucose meters, insulin, and basic necessities they needed to take care of themselves.

Watch how a group of healthcare providers made a difference by going into the community to provide A1C tests, teach the importance of how to manage and prevent diabetes, and to promote the Big Blue Test. We all can make a difference in someone’s life!
